I'm a Baltimore-based jack of many trades.
I'm happiest with my headphones on: editing raw podcast audio, listening to film scores while crafting marketing campaigns, or rollerblading to Celine Dion (a surprisingly motivating soundtrack).
I believe anything can be a story. Your favorite podcast needs a producer to get to the why the hosts are talking into their mic. Pitching a book over email requires a strong beginning, a hearty middle, and an evocative end. An audio editor finds the pauses in a piece and either smooths them out or finds the dramatic effect in the silence.
I'm interested in the places where we've created communities in the margins and on the fringes of the broadly accepted version of our society—the intimate publics, which is an idea explored by theorist Lauren Berlant that I couldn't possibly begin to explain in the "about" section on my website. My favorite stories are the ones that have been historically overlooked, scoffed at, or otherwise marginalized, but remain steadfast in their endurance. A few non-exhaustive examples: queerness in the American South, online fan spaces, the intensity of queer longing and desire.
The above paragraph informs my work as a producer, editor, and publicist: I'm most excited by projects that explore those niches and the gaps therein. If you have one, let's talk!
